Medieval, Renaissance, and Early Baroque Musical Instruments
The Funks perform with a huge array of renaissance and early baroque instruments. Although many are now virtually extinct, in their day these instruments were as standard as the guitar, saxophone and trumpet are today. Renaissance and early Baroque music rarely specified which instruments were intended to perform certain pieces or parts...although there were certainly common arrangements and groupings. Instead, arrangements were more frequently decided upon by the instruments available.
