Sauerkraut With Sausage

I'm an aficionado of books and notebooks of recipes, although not cook as well as I would like. But I love them and have to live through them! Especially if they are old, handled, full of history.

My mother has a lot of notebooks as well. Some are binders, because she always was a practical woman and worked in the bank for thirty years. chucrute! Sauerkraut! I loved opening the binder and highlight the recipe sheet I wanted. They were all blurred ingredients splattered and smelled like the house of my childhood. Not to mention the letter from my mother, who is well-defined and interesting letter to woman who has no time, impatient, not even like cooking, but want to have all the recipes.

When I bought my first personal computer in 1987, I was so excited with the contraption that I decided that I would rewrite recipes of my mother's books. What audacity! Well, the task did not succeed for several reasons. One because I hunt and peck , which makes typing slower than a turtle's pace, and the amount of recipies was enormous. Another because the recipes were so delicious, that I typed over and ran to the kitchen to prepare something to eat, in total despair!

One of these recipes made me cry from laughing so hard, I could not believe what I was reading. My mother always worked outside the home. She retired in 1982 and continues to work today. She is a woman really active and practical, a person who will quickly go to the point. So the recipe that made me laugh a lot and I was never able to forget was like this:

Sauerkraut with Sausage [Jose Maria]

Buy ready sauerkraut and serve with the sausages.

Ha Ha Ha Ha! It fills my eyes with tears just writing this! This recipe is a reflection of my mother !! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!
