When I began writing over sixteen years ago, I had no idea that it would prove so compelling. Soon, I couldn't wait to get home from my job to work on my stories. After five years I realized my dream of retiring to write full time. A short time later, I sold my first book.
Since then, I've sold others and raccked up my share of rejections. But I persevere and have lots of ideas for additional stories. Now I really do have the best of both worlds: a home in the country and a job that lets me go to work in my bathrobe! I still enjoy gardening, cookery, stamp collecting, antique restoration, Celtic and Renaissance music, playing the guitar, and correspondence with pen pals. Three years ago, I becaame a certified water fitness instructor, and now, in addition to writing and gardening, I teach at several pools in the Santa Cruz area.
I've lived in Northern California's Coastal mountains more than thirty years. It's a wonderfully inspiring location and the setting for four of my books. Evenings find me at my computer, a cup of Earl Grey within easy reach, a sleeping cat at my feet, doing what I love best--creating stories of warmth and passion. My motto is "Don't wait for something; make it happen."
For four and one-half years, I was the About.com Ireland for Visitors Guide until they eliminated all the culture sites and most of the travel sites. Now I have a new Ireland for Visitors website where one can find feature articles on a variety of travel inineraries. I've also established the Ireland for Visitors Forum at Delphi where natives and experienced travelers will answer your travel questions. Sign up to receive my free newsletter or join the Forum. Come share an Irish adventure with me.
