Have the hexes been stripped off the turn buckles with that little kit wrench?

Invest in the Lunsford Titanium turn buckle & hinge kit with wrench. The cool wrench will eliminate any stripping of the hexes. Retails for Approx ($38.00)

The installation went without a hitch. It took only ten minutes to install the hinge pins. I used a little light oil and they slid right in place. A perfect replacement for the stock steel items. For the turn buckles, you really need a 4-48 tap. You will save a LOT of time and aggravation by retapping the ball cups first. If you don't, they may crack. The titanium turn buckles are slightly oversized when compared to stock. Be sure to install all the turn buckles with the threads facing the same way. It will make it easer to adjust the car. When you turn the wrench, all the turn buckles will react the same for each tire.

I found that the bumper mounting to be a little weak. I stripped out the threads that hold the bumper onto the bulk head after a head-on with a curb.

Parts:(2) 4-40 x 3/4" and (2) 4-40 locknuts, pic (A).

Step 1: Drill the hole in the bumper all the way through. Using a larger drill bit, drill the holes under the bumper to use as counter sink holes for the screw heads. pic(B). Step 2: Insert screws up from the bottom. With a 4-40 lock nut, see pic (A), thread it down on the screws and tighten. Note: A small amount of bulkhead material may have to be removed. This will allow the nut to fit down and rest on the bulkhead. Now, my bumper is very solid. To help protect the A-arms, I always run a foam bumper trimmed for each body.

Losi's Trophie Case
(As Reported from the Team Losi Web Site)

Street Weapon is 1998 National Champion

Joel Johnson took the TQ position at the 1998 ROAR Carpet On-Road Nationals with his Trinity-powered Street Weapon car. This was before he found the right tire/tire traction combination. After one last practice session on Sunday morning before the main event it was, as they say, game over! Joel was over 1/4 of a second a lap faster than the rest of the A-main field. Joel won the first two main events convincingly with his Street Weapon car and captured the 1998 National Title. The Street Weapon also took the TQ position in the Stock class. Aaron Alexander took the TQ position by over four seconds. Full results are posted in the race results section. The Street Weapon has also wrapped up the BRCA Winter Series. Ellis Stafford has secured the Championship with one race still remaining in the series. The results for rounds two, three, and four of the BRCA series are also posted in the race results section. (As reported from the Team Losi Web Site)

Street Weapon Wins World Warm-ups

Since the World Cup touring car event coming up in a couple of months isn't an official IFMAR World Championship, there is no warm-up race being held on the track that the World Cup will be held on. This being the case, the folks in northern California decided to have a Worlds Warm-Up race themselves. Even though this race wasn't held at the same facility as the World Cup will be held, most of the world's top drivers were on hand. These drivers included Masami Hirosaka and the rest of Yokomo's entire team. Most of the top drivers from the other manufacturers were on hand as well. When the cars crossed the finish line at the end of the event, once again Joel Johnson and his Team Losi Street Weapon were well ahead of the rest of the pack. After taking the TQ position, Joel went on to easily win the main event. In fact, until the last round of qualifying, the Losi team was still running the spec tire that will be used at the upcoming Warm-Up race while others were using Team Losi tires. For the last round of qualifying, the Losi drivers installed Team Losi tires and — with the same superior tire that the others had been using all along — went even faster. Joel decided to stick with the Team Losi tires for the main to give him the tractionneeded to propel his Trinity-powered Street Weapon to the front of the pack and take the win.
