Radiation hazards and cellular?
Is there a RF Radiation hazard, as related to cellular phones?Dose this sound like a fuzzy answer, it is. Almost all of the studies are done by the cellular industries, them self's. I don't feel that there is enough evidence to determine the answer to the question, yet.
- Inconclusive evidence; Maybe....
- If u want to believe there is, there is enough preliminary, and lots of anitdoutical evidence, suggesting a slight possibility - maybe...
- If u don't believe there is (much, like me), the evidence suggest it probably safe - prudence avoidance, is probably best, idea anyway...
What do I recommend?
- If ur wearied, run to the hills; Grow organic food, use no modern amenities (no cell phone, no Net?, no electricity), live deep under ground, in a lead lined cement house, and filter ur air water (for pollutants and biological ;=)...
- Seriously...
- Use hands free equipment;
- Head set, made by a reputable maker ($20-40) (who states product is RF shielded for noise (Plantronics, example. Don't allow the cord to the head set, to come near the antenna, keep it as far as possible, from the antenna.) (I own two head sets, one for in the car one for at home.)
- Use a Radio Shack "Clip mount" #17-518 ($4), (and a "ClearTalk" (~$30-40. by Superior Communications) has external antenna connection and 12v car power adapter (I seen others by other companies, search the net) - important only, if u live in a weak signal area.). You'll need an (min. 3, (Max 5) db gain) antenna (~$30-40).
Or,- Use permanent installations type ($100-200), car kits, hands free, that uses an external antenna, see sample ...

Motorola S6965 (for StarTac's and (flip type) Time Ports...

- Use cell phone that have a EXTERNAL extendable type antenna, like the StarTac, (Sum) Time Ports, Qualcomm (Kyocera),
or (sum) Nokia's...
- Why?
- Because, these types, tend to put the RF signal out in the air better, because the antenna is above your head; Not agents it, like many phone antennas do...
- Don't get too raped up in reports of sum phones having lower (RF) radiation. You really don't want lower, u need hier ones! We can make a cell phone with vary low radiation; u will only be talking to ur self. That "Radiation" is what carries you voice to the cell site, to eventually whom u have called. The losses at ~850 Mhz Cellular are high (not as high as 1900 Mhz, PCS). The moist air, tree, hills, buildings, people, almost anything; all create loss' to ur signal (and the cell sites), more power is generally, a more clear signal...
