This debonair little fellow is me before I discovered the Beatles and grew my hair long!
Well, let's see... I live in Santa Cruz County, I work as an MFCC, and, as you should know by now, my favorite band is the Beatles!
Well, besides the Beatles, you might have guessed that I'm into computers. Specifically, I use an Apple Performa 6400/180. I'm not as dogmatic as some other Apple users are, but do feel that Macs are simple, easy to use computers. I bear no hard feelings toward Windows/IBM/Pentium, etc users. I don't care how much money Bill Gates has, but I am concerned about the amount of power and influence he has (are you listening anti-trust lawyers?). I'm proud to say that I don't own a single piece of Microsoft software.
I'm a big fan of animation; I collect videotapes and laserdiscs, and now DVDs of classic cartoons by Warner Bros., Disney, Fleischer Studios (Betty Boop and the classic Popeye cartoons) and anything by the great Tex Avery.
My first job was in a movie theater; I saw everything from classic Marx. Bros. films to cult films like "Switchblade Sisters" and "Rocky Horror Picture show" before they were cult films. I also watched way too much television as a child. I enjoy just about anything to do with Humphrey Bogart, Laurel and Hardy, Star Wars, and Ed Wood, to name a few. Some of my favorite tv shows are: Lost in Space(hey, SciFi channel! Put LIS on in primetime!), Dark Shadows(same for DS!),the Monkees, Outer Limits, and Twilight Zone.
I sing, play guitar and bass with extreme mediocrity. Besides playing Beatles tunes, I enjoy trying to play other classics from the 50's (Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly, Johnny Burnette/Rock n' Roll Trio), 60's (Stones, Dylan, Who, garage rock, british invasion, and yes, the Monkees), 70's (hmmm, there must have been some good music in that decade... oh yeah, Ramones, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Clash, Power Pop), 80's (Tom Petty, John Mellencamp) and 90's (Wallflowers, Matthew Sweet, Barenaked Ladies). Over the past year or so, I've connected with some musician friends, and on May 2nd, 1998, we held the first Beatles Blowout!

I love to travel when I can afford to. Some my favorite places are: Maui, Vancouver/Victoria, B.C., England, the Jungfrau region of Switzerland, Florence, and Disneyland. When they have decent guests, I try to go to Beatlefest, usually in L.A..

One of these days I'll get around to putting some detailed info about my family on this website. Until then I'd just like to mention that my great-grandfather emigrated to the U.S. in the late 19th century from a small town called Borden, near Sittingbourne, in Kent, England. Many members of the Barrow family stayed in England and are buried in Borden. I'd love to hear from any living members of the Barrow family who are related to the Barrows who were from the Borden/Sittingbourne area.
A couple of friends of mine have websites you might want to check out. My local Santa Cruz Beatle Buddy Jeff Hawkins has a site called The Virtual Auto Parts Store, and my colleague and punning pal Andy Castro (aka Mepster) is involved in a website for Oakland Raider fans.
Um, er, my mother told me not to talk about these things in mixed company, and besides, I'm trying to get this website up and running as quickly as possible, and I'm too lazy to think of something meaningful or provocative to write. Maybe later.
