On November 18, 2000 the third Beatles Blowout was held at St. Lucy's School and Church in Campbell California. The name of our band this year was The Digga Ponys. In addition to the usual guitar, drums, bass and keys, we were pleased to have Karen join us on violin. This year we featured a set of Beatles Hits, and a set of our Beatles favorites. No solo songs this year...

In between sets, we raffled off Beatles trinkets, including a copy of the Beatles Anthology Book. We also raffled off copies of "It's Our Sgt. Pepper", a CD of interpretations of the songs from the classic Beatle album.

As is now a Beatle Blowout tradition, after the main sets, we held a jam, with folks joining us on stage to play even more Beatle tunes. Katy belted out "Oh Darling!", Ron did a lusty version of "Come Together", among many others. We ended the evening with a rocking version of "Cry For A Shadow". Special thanks to Roseann, Lila, Madeline, Jeanette, and all the other folks from the Beatles Collector e-list who drove down from San Francisco and the peninsula to join us. Extra special thanks to Rob Perala, who displayed his bass autographed by Paul McCartney, and shared his photo album of cool Macca snapshots!
