"Those who have the gold, make the rules"

"If I were a company, I'd have to protect my interests by hiring people who'd get up and say there is no problem. And some scientists never testify - they feel it either puts them on one side of the issue or diminishes their credibility."

Jerry Phillips, MD

There is a concept in scientific research today known as the Golden Rule: Those who have the gold, make the rules. What does this have to do with EMF Bioeffects? Well, if the research is being funded by service providers, do you think they are going to be seriously looking into ways to hurt their own business? Granted this is a cynical view, but perhaps it is justified by historical perspective. "If you want another grant ($) to do research for us, you better figure out a way to come up with the data we want to see ..." Of course, not everybody plays by these rules, but enough do to confuse the issue - in many branches of science.

Looking at it from the other side, where do you get funding for research that might incriminate the infrastructure? There is currently no profit in tearing down the existing communications systems and power distribution systems in this country. But what if there were?

"By contrast, mission-oriented agencies fund only work which directly furthers their specific missions. Examples of such agencies include the Departments of Defense (DOD) and Energy (DOE) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)." NOTE: Much cited EMR research was funded by DoD and DoE.
