Graham Hills Showgrounds Info
Return to SCCHA Homepage

Originally 170 acres contiguous with the south boundary of Henry Cowell State Park, the Graham Hill Showgrounds has been home to the Club since the 1940's.  Owned by the Cowell Foundation, the Club leased  this large parcel until 1997 when it was sold to Standard Pacific for housing development.

Due to many years of work by dedicated Board members, a portion of the Cowell lands sold for development was set aside to be dedicated as a County Equestrian Park, to be run by the SCCHA.

The two arenas, round-pen and current camping sites will remain in place, and the Showgrounds continues to be available to members and their horses. Years of planning, fundraising and red tape to replace our old clubhouse finally culminated in a new clubhouse in 2008.

Membership in the SCCHA comes with access to the beautiful grounds, arenas, round pen, paddocks and picnic tables. Campsites provide members and guests overnight accomodations with horses while they ride in Cowell State Park or other nearby parks.
